Support your youth soccer community by becoming a Referee

Become a Referee

All youth sports, including soccer, have a big demand for referees. If you like being part of your soccer community, work outside on the soccer field and work with kids and also get paid for it then this is a great way to support youth sports. The referee training and work is a great way to build qualities like strong communication, people and event management.

  • At what age can I start?
Referee candidates must be at last 14 years old at the time of the course.
Note: We also need Adult referees to sustain youth sports to help with higher level games and help on those weekends when the high schoolers have their SAT 🙂
  • How much does it pay?
Referees can make anywhere from $35 to $60 per game
  • How do I become a referee?
You can follow the steps here to become a state certified referee : Steps to become a referee
Massachusetts State Ref Committee has courses going in full swing this summer to train our next generation of referees.
  • I have some more questions who do I talk to?
