Emergency Action Plan

In the unlikely event of an Emergency:

  • Before practices or games, Coaches should pre-assign responsibilities to the coaching staff or to parents so everyone knows their role in a time critical situation.
  • Suggested roles are found below, but not limited to this list.
    • Person who will call 911. Identify a primary and a back-up. More calls to 911 are better than fewer.
      • Identify which field the emergency is on. Example: “Front Field, Field A”.
      • Stating both establish consistency for when fields are not marked with signs and/or no one is available to meet and direct First Responders
      • All fields at Ellsworth-McAfee are numbered/lettered. During game days, the signs will be posted on the field. During practice days, these are typically not placed, but coaches and parents should be familiar with their practice field.
      • The Northborough Fire & Police have been provided with the latest field maps, updated for Fall 2024.
    • Person who can locate and retrieve the AED
    • Person who can locate and retrieve the First-Aid Kit and/or cold packs.
    • Person who can meet the First Responders. Go to the Parking Lot, near the entrance and wave them down.
  • In the event that the fields need to be evacuated immediately. Once safety is reached, Coaches should implement an accountability check. Coaches should refer to TeamSnap attendance and attempt to contact all players/families to ensure that all players are safe and accounted for.

Northborough Youth Soccer will follow the USA Soccer Emergency Action Plan which includes guidelines for Cardiac Arrest, Head and Brain Conditions, Asthma, and Environmental Conditions.
