Rain dates to be confirmed by NYSA.

US Soccer Birth Year Implementation: The US Soccer Federation has announced changes in player age groups. This change has caused many questions and concerns. Boston Area Youth Soccer (BAYS) has adopted the following player eligibility definitions that we will apply to the upcoming fall 2019 select team process.

  • Grades 3-4 (formerly U10). A player must be in the 4th grade or below AND born on or after 1/1/2009 to be eligible for this grade/age grouping.
  • Grades 5-6 (formerly U12). A player must be in the 6th grade or below AND born on or after 1/1/2007 to be eligible for this grade/age grouping.
  • Grades 7-8 (formerly U14). A player must be in the 8th grade or below AND born on or after 1/1/2005 to be eligible for this grade/age grouping.

Rain Dates: If we do get rained out, the makeup evaluations will likely be the Thursday or Friday of the same week.

Make Up Dates: There are NO make up dates for NYSA evaluations unless due to rain as mentioned above.

GOALIES: We will do a quick goalie evaluation immediately following tryouts each evening for those players that are interested. We strongly encourage all players to attend the field player tryouts even if a player only wants to play as a goalie.

Attendance: Players are encouraged to attend both tryout nights. Players ONLY need to attend one night to be considered for an NYSA Select Team. Players that do NOT attend evaluations are NOT eligible for NYSA select teams.
