Brian Girard has volunteered as the Referee Coordinator for the last two years and will be shifting his time to serve as Vice President beginning the Fall 2017 season. The Board is appreciated of his continued efforts working with our coaches and the BAYS league to assist with executing a successful playing experience. Brian is replacing Scott Rogers who volunteered on the board and coached for more than a decade.
After many years of volunteering on the board and as a coach, Jeff Scott is stepping down from his role as Fundraising Coordinator. Many of you have met Jeff as his primary role has been to staff and stock the Field of Dreams snack shack. Next time you see Jeff, Brian, and Scott, please join NYSA in thanking them for their years of service.
The are two immediate openings on the NYSA board are:
Responsibilities include securing and assigning referees, coordinating referee training, and insuring referees are current with referee certifications.
A high level of communication and organizational skills are essential.
A small stipend through the league (BAYS) is available each season.
Responsibilities include coordinating fundraising opportunities including but not limited to the Field of Dreams, spring Jamboree, etc.
Organization skills are a must in addition to creativity.
This is a great opportunity to join a board of committed individuals who desire to provide playing experiences for players at all skill levels.
